COMO Shambhala began as a small yoga studio and blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon offering “wellness experiences for a global clientele”. With the arrival of the pandemic, so many of these wellness experiences had to move online: thus removing the tranquil, calming environment of a COMO Resort as a setting for activities such as yoga and pilates classes. Our brief was to create “video versions” of these classes for a new online wellness app, and set these in an environment that somehow “felt COMO” without actually being on location at any of the resorts. After much searching for a way to do it, we arrived at “The Jellyfish” - a custom-built hanging light able to give a sudio environment something of a tropical underwater quality. Under the calming gaze of “The Jellyfish”, filming the classes was almost as restorative as the classes themselves.
